Brain Basics
This term, students of Grade 5/6S have understaken an exciting learning journey on the brain, stress and learning. Students have been immersed in a variety of multi-sensory experiences that have included:
- dissecting a sheep’s brain;
- tasting brain food;
- listening and exploring alpha, beta and theta music;
- trying brain gym;
- creating clay models of the different lobes of the brain; and
- watching a video on the brain, stress and learning.
Equipped with many new discoveries, students will now create their own personalised action plans outlining the conditions they need to work in to learn best. For more information, check out the accompanying visual that shows the journey the students have been on:
This learning journey was based on an innovative unit created by Lane Clark. For more information, visit the Lane Clark website.
